Ogata Kōrin's celebrated pair of six-panel screens: drifts of irises set in rhythm across gold, painted in vivid azurite blue and malachite green. The Yatsuhashi episode of The Tales of Ise is thought to lie behind it. Nezu Museum, where it is shown each spring.
